The Metal Isotopes Lab
The Metal Isotopes Laboratory includes a trace metal clean lab, a semi-clean sample prep lab, and additional general lab space for processing geological and biological materials.
Instrumentation for the lab is housed within our Stable Isotope Research Facility (SIRF) and shares space with a range of isotope ratio mass spectrometers, used for analyzing light stable isotopes. The Metal Isotopes Laboratory utilizes two mass spectrometers: a quadrupole inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometer (ICPMS) and a multicollector inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometer (MC-ICPMS).
